DENVER - For 29 years, 9NEWS has organized the 9Cares Colorado Shares Food Drive. It is the largest one-day drive in the region thanks to the thousands of people who donate food.

The final count shows that 413,401 pounds - or 206 tons - of food were donated. A record breaking $152,551 was also collected.

The site that collected the most donations was at Southwest Plaza. That site alone collected 72,800 pounds of food and $11,059.

If you didnt't make it on Saturday, Nov. 12, you can donate online by clicking here: http://9news.giveo.com.

We also have 30 remote sites throughout Colorado. We are collecting non-perishable food, clothing and toys.

For locations, visit: http://on9news.tv/u5ZoS6.

The food will go to 125 food banks, the clothing will go to ARC and Goodwill Thrift Stores and the toys will go to the Santa Claus Shops. We also collect cash and checks make out to 9Cares Colorado Shares at each location.

Money collected will be used to purchase food later in the year when the need is great. In June, 9CCS used $100,000 towards a food purchase for distribution through our food banks.
