Denver, CO - Beginning June 28th, 2010, 9NEWS will add more local news broadcast hours and expand news programming on the Networks of 9News.

9NEWS President and General Manager, Mark Cornetta said, "Local news is our core business and it's what we do best. We have talked about growing our news product and now we have the right people in place to make it a success."

9NEWS will begin the day with local news at 4:30am, Monday-Friday on KUSA. 9News at 4:30am will then be repeated on KTVD, My20, from 6:30 to 7am leading into live news programming with 9NEWS at 7. 9NEWS is also expanding its Monday-Friday 9pm newscast on My20 to one hour. In addition, 9NEWS will extend the Sunday, 10pm newscast on KUSA to one hour. This will grow the number of hours of local news programming from 48 to 56 hours per week.

9NEWS Vice President and News Director, Patti Dennis agrees. "We pride ourselves on quality journalism and to add more news programming would be impossible without a team of dedicated professionals both on-air and behind the scenes."
