Denver, CO - Summer in Colorado. It's a time when many Coloradans shut off the TV and head outdoors to hike, raft or swim. This July, more Coloradans tuned in to 9NEWS than any other Denver news station. From our first newscast, 9NEWS First at 4:30 a.m. to 9NEWS at 10 p.m., 9NEWS dominates every time slot in which we compete.
9NEWS President and General Manager Mark Cornetta is understandably proud of the ratings success. "We are very pleased with our performance during the July ratings period. 9NEWS First premiered at 4:30 a.m. and became an instant number one in the time period. Our newscasts across the board win virtually all of their time slots and NBC is back on top in primetime. 9NEWS at 9 and 9:30 p.m. on KTVD also had a great performance and are quickly gaining traction with the 9 p.m. audience. We couldn't have scripted a more successful ratings period. With a new slate of NBC shows premiering this Fall, I'm very optimistic for our continued success and proud of the work our organization is doing."
Since premiering in late June, 9NEWS First with Gregg Moss has taken control of the early morning news time period with nearly four times the rating and share of the nearest competitor, a national news program on ABC.

The Adults 25-54 ratings are undeniably impressive. Dominating wins for 9NEWS Daybreak at 5 and 5:30 a.m. build on the success of 9NEWS First. Couple that with an overwhelming 1.8 rating/16.9 share (A25-54) for 9NEWS 6 a.m. and it becomes clear that Coloradans make 9NEWS their number one choice for news in the mornings.

And while 9NEWS starts the day strong, it finishes the day even stronger. 9NEWS at 9 and 9:30 p.m. on My20 KTVD continue to grow audience share, closing in on the long-running Fox News at 9 on KDVR. This July saw the addition of a half hour newscast at 9:30 on My20 and the numbers demonstrate it is a hit with the audience. Despite an overwhelming advantage in the lead-in programming on Fox, 9NEWS at 9 and 9:30 p.m. nearly equal the numbers of their only other competitor, scoring an average 1.2 rating and 3.4 share against a 1.4 rating and 4.2 share for KDVR's hour-long broadcast.
In the signature 10 p.m. news race, 9NEWS wins the final newscast of the day with a showing greater than the combined totals of both KCNC and KMGH. Combined with the ratings of 9NEWS at 9 p.m. on My20, the Networks of 9NEWS own 51% of news viewers at night.
