DENVER - At the 2011 Colorado Associated Press Broadcasters Association awards luncheon Saturday at The Golden Hotel in Golden, CO, 9NEWS dominated the afternoon, capturing 12 first place and three second place awards in fifteen categories, including Best Evening and Morning Newscasts, Investigative Reporting and Best Website.

9NEWS President and General Manager Mark Cornetta said, "It is nice to see the broad range of categories in which our team was recognized by the Associated Press. This speaks to the quality, consistency and culture of our 9NEWS team and organization lead by our Vice President and News Director, Patti Dennis."

9NEWS also won the inaugural awards in three new categories including Best Reporter (Cheryl Preheim), Best Station Photojournalism and Best Producer.

Patti Dennis added, "The Associated Press is the nation's oldest news agency. To continue to be awarded for outstanding journalism and service to our viewers is certainly something we cherish. It proves again that strong, investigative, thoughtful reporting is important in today's multi-channel, multi-media society."
