NEW YORK - The summer's high holiday, the Fourth of July, is right around the corner, and Americans are busy making plans for cookouts, fireworks and vacation getaways. With all our mobile devices these days, chances are - as the commercials say - there's an app for that, no matter how you'll celebrate the Fourth.

Wanna get outside? "Oh Ranger" is a fun and free iPhone app that finds parks near you. The makers claim this lists and profiles every state and federal park in the nation. There's an activity finder part of the app that shows things to do and the app will show you parks nearest your location.

What about mosquitos? Well, for 99 cents, an anti-mosquito app claims to emit a high frequency tone that repels mosquitos but cant be heard by humans. Some people claim it works, others say not so much.

Traveling this summer by airplane? Get "Gateguru," for the iPhone or Droid. It's free and lists what gates flights are at, nearby restaurants and security line wait times. It even lets you Tweet or Facebook your travels.

Finally, if you're staying home and cooling out, Weber's "On the Grill" app for the iPad and iPhone is well worth the steep $4.99 price tag. It has awesome recipes and the iPad app is stunning.
