Early Saturday morning, dozens of local children gathered at the Glendale Target parking lot, eagerly awaiting the arrival of Santa. This Santa was different than most you find in a local mall because he piloted a chopper and made a perfect landing in front of the children.
Local charity, Denver Active 20/30, has made it a tradition to bring Santa and his helicopter to Target for a day of gift giving and shopping. The kids were all given a goodie bag of toys and a snow sled to take home and enjoy. Once the gifts were given out, the kids went inside Target to shop for $50 worth of gifts for their families. The kids had to keep track of totals for purchases and then had to wrap their own presents. Each child was accompanied by a volunteer from Denver Active 20/30 who helped shop, wrap and see that the kids had a good time.
Denver Active 20/30 raised the money for this project by holding their annual Christmas for Kids Fashion show. Denver Active 20/30 is a philanthropic fundraising organization dedicated to raising money to help at-risk and disadvantaged children in the Denver area and throughout Colorado.
