9NEWS HOLIDAY GUIDE
McGuckin's Hardware in Boulder has several homemade ideas for their customers this holiday season.
Store President Barry Hight appeared on 9News Wednesday morning with some affordable gifts.
One
idea is to take a glass block, drill a hole and put in lights.
"You
stuff it full of lights. It can be electric or battery operated," said
Hight.
Hight also uses clay pots to make a bird feeder and old nostalgic lights to make your own lights.
Another gift is to make a dog food holder. "Storing pet food can be a mouse haven," Hight said.
He
says get a small medal trash can, wrap garden holders with pockets
around it to hold all of your pet products. You can include dog shampoo,
toys, and a brush.
McGuckin's Hardware says they can show you
how to make all of these gifts, including one gift to top it all off, a
gift wrap center that hangs on a door.
