KUSA - Ever heard of AIMS? The Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings, led by Trapper John Tice dedicate themselves to finding mountain monsters. They've looked for everything from the Kentucky Hellhound to Sheepsquatch.

Their hunts, most of which are carried out in the Appalachian Region, are documented in a series on Destination America. Trapper John and his team have a website that explains their mission.

Many have tried to explain it but no one is really sure why. What we do know is that on a regular basis sightings are reported and who knows how many go unreported for fear by the witnesses of being laughed at or ridiculed.

Some believe that the Appalachian Region is incredibly unique because it offers the perfect conditions for mysterious creatures. It is the window from our dimension into another dimension where these creatures exist. Whatever the explanation, there are regular sightings of these creatures and it is the job of the AIMS to investigate these reports and help determine if they are real or if there is another explanation.

Trapper John says the holy grail of Mountain Monsters is the Sheepsquatch which he describes as the size of a bear with white, wooly fur, saber-like teeth and goat horns. Trapper John swears it lives in all kinds of mountain habitats, including Colorado.
