OK, this isn't a story about monkeys. We're sorry about that. We like the idea of dancing monkeys, too. But we really appreciate your attention, and if you can stay with us for a minute, there's a surprise in it for you at the end.
If we can all unite around dancing monkeys, Next is confident we can also unite around other topics. And so, we present to you "Let's Just Talk." We put the call out last week, and little did we know the idea would become a thing.
Hundreds of you have responded, saying you're open to discussing politics, and this election, in a respectful way. We don't need hate. We don't need name calling. Let's Just Talk.
Friday, Kyle and a couple of dozen of you from around Colorado will chat about your hopes and fears for the country, and what we can do to move forward after a divisive election.
Some of the participants supported Donald Trump, some supported Hillary Clinton, and some supported third parties.
This will be a town hall discussion, beginning Friday at 6 p.m. on 9NEWS. We'll continue the discussion from 6:30 to 7 online. Join us and follow along. We want to hear from everyone at home too, and hope this inspires everyone to give it a shot. If strangers can respect each other's differences, you can talk to your uncle at Thanksgiving dinner. Or your neighbor down the street.
Thanks for reading. Now, here's a cute baby monkey playing on a rope:
