You should follow Coloradoan reporter Jason Pohl. He's a local journalist, but right now, he's halfway around the world.
Pohl is on a two-week trip, embedded on an 80-foot ship off the Libyan coast. The ship is full of people who are rescuing refugees from crowded rafts off the country.
Pohl got the idea from two Poudre Fire Authority firefighters who volunteered with the non-profit Global DIRT. Room opened up for a journalist to tag along one of the trips, so Pohl joined two more of the PFA firefighters, who headed out to Malta last week.
He posted a column, detailing how he actually ended up on the boat. Service will be limited, but he'll be tweeting throughout the weeks he's there. Follow along:
