Skateboarder from Colorado breaks world speed record

9NEWS at 6 p.m. 9/15/16.

Don't blink, or you'll miss Kyle Wester.

He's a 29-year-old skateboarder from Denver, who now has a Guinness World Record to his name for going faster than most cars.

Wester went downhill at 89.41 mph, breaking the previous Fastest Skateboard Speed Downhill record of 81.17 mph.

He did it in "an undisclosed location in the United States" in late August - suited up with a fin-like accessory on his leg, and obviously a helmet.

From above, the ride seems somewhat tame. Watching him cruise around corners from the ground makes us cringe. His friends can't say anything but a word we'd bleep out on the news.

The goal is to reach 100 mph one day.

By the way, Kyle is a professional, and police probably don't like this video very much. So... ya know... don't do this yourself.
