KUSA - Colorado hasn’t felt very much like a swing state lately.
Some polls have Hillary Clinton up by 11 points over Donald Trump – a lead so big she stopped advertising in the Centennial State.
Trump hadn’t been spending money either – until this week.
According to FCC filings for three Denver TV stations (including 9NEWS), Donald Trump bought 420 spots on Denver airwaves this week, spending $468,000 between 9NEWS, Channel 4 and Channel 7.
Fox 31 has not reported any Trump ad buys yet.
The FCC filing says Trump spent $37,000 on a 30-second spot during the Broncos game that aired on Tuesday on 9NEWS.
Compare that to Hillary Clinton, who stopped buying ads at the end of the July.
She spent $350,000 on more than 300 spots on 9NEWS between June and July, according to FCC filings.
The bottom line? The political ads you thought you’d escaped are back at least for this week as Trump tries to chip away Clinton’s lead.
