Your TV bill could drop to less than $20 per month (if you're willing to give up sports)

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Why are our television bills so expensive? Because of sports.

If you can live without live sports, your monthly bill could drop to less than $20.

That’s the proposal being put forth by Viacom Inc. (Nasdaq: VIA, VIAB), Discovery Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: DISCA, DISCB, DISCK) and AMC Networks Inc. (Nasdaq: AMCX), which are in discussions with pay-TV providers to create new digital video services for customers who aren’t sports fans, Bloomberg reports.

The companies are in talks with four to six pay-TV companies to introduce entertainment-only so-called skinny bundles, the publication reported, one of which could launch this year.
