DENVER - A Denver Animal Control Officer fixed an elderly woman's fence after learning that she had been the victim of fraud.
Officer Andrew Martinez first had contact with the woman in mid April about her Chihuahuas which were running loose. They had escaped from her yard due to a broken fence.
On April 27, Officer Martinez returned to her home on East 45th Avenue for a follow up visit to see if the fence had been repaired. She told him she had paid someone to do the work, but they had taken her money and not done the repairs.
Upon hearing her story, Officer Martinez decided to fix the fence himself. He paid for all the materials needed out of his own pocket and returned to fix the fence on May 5.
