KUSA - Sure, it technically did not happen in Colorado, but mountaineer Kim Hess’ picture on the summit of Mount Everest might be the most Colorado thing you’ll see today.

Hess reached the 29,034 foot summit of Mt. Everest early Saturday morning.

“As the sun peaked above the horizon and the full moon went to sleep in the west, I found my happy. I danced on the summit of Mount Everest,” she wrote on Facebook. “I pushed my body further than I knew possible and after patiently waiting for the stars to align, my soul touched the sky.

Thank you, Mt Everest for opening your door, inviting me in to visit, and letting me stay while. Thank for all the love, support and prayers. Mission accomplished!”

The Denver Broncos shared one of her photos from the summit, writing “THIS is #Horsepower.”

Hess, who hails from Steamboat Springs, is working to climb all Seven Summits, or each of the highest peaks on each continent. Her brother Steven, who Hess' roommate Katie says lives in Denver, also submitted.

Hess was on Everest during the deadly earthquake in April 2015 and climbed the highest peak in North America with a broken foot.

We first got the photo of the Denver Broncos flag from Hess’ roommate via YOUR TAKE. Needless to say, the 9NEWS newsroom thought it was awesome.

Way to go, Kim!
