Unfortunately, according to 9NEWS' gardening expert Rob Proctor, "Mother Nature is a lousy pruner, and what you really need is a tree service."
Proctor says that pruning should be done with a smaller tree, and that with "giant trees that are 60-feet-tall, nothing can be done."
Plants should be brought inside before storms and can be brought back out when temps no longer go below freezing.
Proctor says that his old dining room is currently filled with plants and that, "there all going to go back outside, and were going to pretend this never happened."
Pretending it never happened will only work until the next snowfall, so it's best to prepare.
