9NEWS Leader of the Year - Awards

Presented by
In partnership with the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, 9NEWS and the Colorado Leadership Alliance, the 9NEWS Leader of the Year Award recognizes an emerging leader* who has made a significant contribution to the well-being of the Colorado community.

It is an investment in the potential of an extraordinary individual who, in the early stages of his/her career, has demonstrated character and competence through his/her behavior and accomplishments.

This award will be presented on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation’s Celebrating Civic Leadership Luncheon.  The 9NEWS Leader of the Year Award recognizes that leadership takes place in all aspects of our society. Therefore, nominations are encouraged from all areas of Colorado, from all parts of the community, and every walk of life.  The award winner must attend the April 5th award luncheon.  Individuals may not self-nominate.
For 10 years 9NEWS has been proud to honor emerging leaders in our community, recognizing those who make a significant contribution to the well-being of our state.
*An emerging leader is defined generally by:
  1. An individual working in the early stages of his/her career (i.e. under 25 years as a professional)
  2. An individual who has not previously been publicly recognized for a large, comprehensive body of community work.
  3. Elected and appointed officials and individuals currently running for office are not eligible.
  4. Previous winners of the Leadership Foundation’s Outstanding Alumnus of the Year Award.
Recognition:
The award winner will be recognized at the Leadership Foundation’s Celebrating Civic Leadership Luncheon on April 5, 2012, which is sponsored by DaVita, Inc. This event will be attended by more than 600 business and community leaders from throughout Colorado. In addition, the award winner will be featured on 9NEWS and 9News.com following the luncheon.
