Colorado brewers honored at Great American Beer Festival

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Beer makers in Colorado snagged 38 awards out of 286 gold, silver and bronze medals awarded Saturday at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver.

Presented by the Boulder-based Brewers Association, the event concluded Saturday at the Colorado Convention Center. It bills itself as the largest commercial beer competition in the world.

Prizes were awarded in 96 beer categories covering 161 different beer styles. There were 7,227 entries (up from 6,647 entries in 2015) from 1,752 breweries in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

These Colorado beers and brewers won gold medals at Saturday's awards presentation:

  • Chili Beer: Rocky Mtn Saison, 14er Brewing Co., Denver
  • Pumpkin Spice Beer: Pump Action Imperial Pumpkin Ale, 4 Noses Brewing Co., Broomfield
