DENVER - Congratulations to Casa Bonita! The Denver institution was recognized as the 2016 Public Health Champion of the Year from Jefferson County Public Health.
Every year, Jeffco Public Health honors those who help prevent illness and promote health while demonstrating heroism in their community.
The categories range from Ensuring Safe and Healthy Childcare for Homeless and Low-Income Families to Assuring Food Safety which Casa Bonita was recognized for.

The award states General Manager Mike Mason and his team showed innovative, conscientious and diligent dedication to making sure the food they serve the public is safe for consumption.
Casa Bonita has also attended the Jeffco Public Health Food Safety Forum for five years and is leading a collaboration with other local restaurants to implement a system that will solve daily food safety issues.
Mike and the other managers credit the hard work of the managers and employees in addition to the support from the Jefferson County Department of Health for the award.
