DENVER - Guess how many pounds of french fries we eat in one year? The answer is 29 pounds!
Sunday is National French Fry Day, and to celebrate, Jonesy's Eat Bar stopped by the 9NEWS Studios.
They have been awarded top honors including, "Best fries in the United States," "Best in Denver (Westword, 5280 Magazine, CBS Denver, Travel & Leisure, USA Today, CNN").
They're known for some of their wilder fry choices including: Bacon Mac & Cheese Fries ( homemade cheesy deliciousness, bacon) and Buffalo fries (traditional wing sauce, blue cheese crumbles & dressing).
Here's how to make a delicious truffle aioli for your french fries:
- 1/2 clove, garlic
- 1 egg
- 2 egg yokes
- 1/2 oz. lemon juice
- 1 oz. champagne vinegar
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 1 oz. truffle oil
- 3 cups canola oil
- 1/2 cup water
Blend egg and yolk, lemon juice, and vinegar. Slowly add 1/2 of oil to emulsify. Slowly add water to thin out and add salt. Slowly add rest of oil. Finished product should be slightly thinner than mayo but not pourable. Garnish with fresh shaved Parmesan and scallions.
