Katie Mullen's parent files Ch. 11 bankruptcy

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Northwest Bars Inc., parent company of Katie Mullen's Irish Pub, a popular 16th Street Mall watering hole and restaurant, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Katie Mullen's is located at 1550 Court Place, and recently expanded into two new locations, including Wee Katie's in Denver's Highlands neighborhood and Katie Eile in the Orchard Town Center in Westminster.

The filing was made Jan. 26. Chapter 11 filings are often characterized as "reorganizations" and are frequently used by companies that want to restructure their debt.

Northwest Bars has between one and 49 creditors and between $100,001 and $500,000 in liabilities, according to the bankruptcy filing. The company also has between $100,001 and $500,000 in assets, documents show.
