Our 9 favorite, festive holiday soundtracks

Are you sick of Jingle Bells or Holly Jolly Christmas? Fear not – we have you covered.

Instead of those Christmas Classics – we’ve created a list of our nine favorite holiday soundtracks.

The majority of these songs are original music, and will definitely put you in the holiday spirit.

Check out our Spotify playlist we’ve created with some samples, and cue it up for your holiday gathering!

(No Particular order to these, except Home Alone is a definite number one)

Home Alone / Home Alone 2

Composed by John Williams / Various Artists

When it comes to holiday soundtracks, John Williams’ score for Home Alone is the best musical present you can receive. As the millennials would say, it gives you “all the feels.” From over-the-top anthems to tender moments, the soundtrack is just as good as the movie. My favorites are “The Main Title,” from Home Alone and “Finale,” from Home Alone 2.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Vince Guaraldi Trio

A Jazz take on new songs & Christmas classics. “Christmas Time is Here,” highlights the album. Put this one on when you want to relax.

The Santa Clause

Composed by Michael Convertino

A sweeping soundtrack that is big, fun & nostalgic. You can't listen to it on Spotify, but you can buy it here on Amazon.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Composed by Danny Elfman

A quirky, if you will, take on Christmas music. A sing-a-long for long holiday drives.

The Best Man Holiday

Various Artists

A great R&B take on holiday music. Fun, Funky & Fresh – this will get you dancing around the house while setting up the tree!

Dr. Suess’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas Soundtrack

Various Artists

“You’re a Mean One…Mr. Grinch!”  A fun and memorable soundtrack – with some great lyrics - “Fah-Who-For-Aze Dah-Who-Dor-Aze Welcome Christmas!”

The Holiday Soundtrack

Composed by Hans Zimmer

When you’re cooking Christmas cookies or dinner – do you want to feel like you’re Giada? Then put on The Holiday Soundtrack. Then go watch Jude Law be debonair and Kate Winslet be adorable.

The Family Stone Soundtrack

Composed by Michael Giacchino

This score is very simple, and very nostalgic. Miachael Giacchino scored “Up!” so be prepared to shed some tears. The soundtrack can't be found on Spotify but is on iTunes.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer

Composed by Burl Ives

Much like the movie, the soundtrack is a classic. “Silver & Gold,” “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” & “Jingle Jingle Jingle,” will bring back memories of your youth. Just don’t go chasing the Bumble without Yukon Cornelius!
