Local street artist spreads her wings

LITTLETON – After traveling the world with her street art, local artist Kelsey Montague is back in Littleton drawing a pair of wings outside Spur Coffee Shop to inspire and celebrate her hometown.

Kelsey comes from a family of painters and began pursuing art as a career a few years ago. Since then, she has gained a huge following on social media, totaling over 12,000 followers on Instagram and over 3,000 likes on her Facebook page.

She uses social media to engage her fans and the communities where her street art is done. The hashtag #whatliftsyou is a way for fans to express what inspires them. She hopes her art creates positive community discussion online.

Kelsey most recently drew a pair of angel wings on a wall outside of a New York City pizzeria. The wings took off and sources such as MTV, Mashable, and Refinery 29 profiled Kelsey's work. Now she is back in Colorado drawing a pair of butterfly wings to inspire our community.

She'll be outside Spur Coffee Shop on South Prince Street all day on Tuesday. The public is encouraged to interact with her artwork by taking pictures or using the hashtag.
