Adventure camp gets women movin'

DENVER – May is the month of the Colorado Get Movin' Challenge, encouraging all people to be active. But that doesn't mean they have to do boring exercises. In fact, at Vela Adventures, it means just the opposite.

"Just try it" is a motto that Vela Adventures co-founder Heather Fleck lives by. She and Kelly Kocher co-founded the company after, as their website explains, "Heather was jealous that her kids got to do all the fun and exciting stuff when she sent them to summer camp."

The company takes women on adventures that last an entire day and including a relaxing activity at the end. That means combining activities like kayaking, zip-lining and aerial acrobatics with picnic lunches, reflexology sessions and wine tastings afterwards.

The Colorado Get Movin' Challenge encourages all types of physical activities, with creativity being a boost for some people to start a physical activity. The challenge also offers prizes. For more information, visit:
