New guide highlights less traveled areas in Colorado

Starting on Monday, there's a new way for people to explore our state with the Colorado Field Guide.

DENVER - From endless outdoor adventures to the growing food scene, Colorado has a lot to offer.

So it's no surprise tourism is a big draw in the state.

Starting on Monday, there’s a new way for people to explore our beautiful state with the Colorado Field Guide.

The brand new itinerary planner by the Colorado Tourism Office is aimed at getting Coloradans and other travelers to explore less traveled parts of the state.

“This is a way we can encourage travelers to experience parts of Colorado they may not normally go to,” Director of the Colorado Tourism Office Cathy Ritter said. “Built into a lot of these itineraries are ways that Coloradans and other travelers can give back to our state.

The field guide is also designed as a sustainability project to help relieve pressure on Colorado's most popular destinations.
