Blog: Why I'm sharing what I love about ColoRADo

When I type Colorado into my phone, spellcheck changes it to ColoRADo. That’s how much I love this state.

I’m Colorado…ColoRADo…obsessed.

So 9NEWS is letting me continue my series Colorful Colorado, which is going to draw attention to how awesome our state is.

Colorful Colorado stories begin airing on 9NEWS with Sunday Storytellers at 9 & 10PM. They will air throughout the week on 9NEWS. A 30-minute special airs Saturday, May 27 at 9:30PM on KTVD (Channel 20).

Some folks might not like this—because they don’t want others to know how rad ColoRADo is—but here’s the deal: I believe when you really love something, you take care of it.

I’m going take our viewers all over our amazing state—and I’ll give tips on things to do, places to hike, and restaurants to check out.

This isn’t because I want to ruin these places. I’m just trying to share the great things happening here—in turn, I hope people will take pride in their state.

And maybe that will equate to people treating it with respect.

I’m not going to lie, there are things that annoy me too.

When it says “no dogs off leash,” and I see a dog off leash, that doesn’t make me stoked.

When I hear someone’s music playing through speakers when I’m hiking at 12,000 ft., I’m not a fan of that either.

How do we fix these things that bug us? If you’ve got ideas—let us know!

But, I still believe in telling everyone about people/places/things I love here. I hope you’ll share some of yours too.

Not just the gripes.

I hope to see you on the trail—I’ll give you a big high five, as long as you’re not playing Nickelback on some sort of Bluetooth speaker thing.
