Celebrate the holiday season at these lighting ceremonies and events

KUSA - It may be a little warm outside to think of the holidays, but they are coming. There's no better way to get into the holiday spirit than to check out a local tree lighting or holiday lights event.

Outlets at Castle Rock's Tree Lighting on Nov. 12

A concert hosted by AJ Lehrman and featuring Brian Justin Crum will kickoff the Outlets at Castle Rock's Tree Lighting. After the show Santa Claus himself will help light the 55-foot white fir tree. More than 8,000 bulbs will shine. The concert starts at 5 p.m. on Nov. 12. The event, located at 5050 Factory Shops Boulevard in Castle Rock, is free and family-friendly. Downtown Grand Junction Tree Lighting on Nov. 18

Santa Claus is very busy this time of year. He makes a stop in Grand Junction on Nov. 18 to light up not only the big tree at 4th and Main streets, but also all the holiday lights along Main Street. Beaver Creek's 36th Annual Tree Lighting on Nov. 25

The 36th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Beaver Creek starts the ski and holiday season at this resort. There is a holiday poetry contest, ice skating show and performances by various Colorado groups. Santa makes a stop to light the tree and visit with kids. The evening concludes with a fireworks show. Denver's Light the Lights on Nov. 25

9NEWS will help downtown Denver kickoff the holiday season with Light the Lights on Nov. 25 at 6 p.m. at the City and County Building. There will be music and and a countdown to light up the City and County Building and Union Station with thousands of lights.

Botanic Gardens Blossom of Lights and Trail of Lights starts Nov. 25

Grab some hot cocoa, your friends and family and check out the Denver Botanic Gardens' Blossom of Lights. The many paths of the gardens are covered in lights and festive sculptures. The Trail of Lights is located at the Chatfield Farms in Littleton and features synchronized music, illuminated antique and model tractors, a beautiful barn donned in hundreds of lights and much more. Littleton's Candlelight Walk on Nov. 25

Littleton's 33rd annual Candlelight Walk and Tree Lighting will happen the day after Thanksgiving on Nov. 25. The event features holiday entertainment from Heritage High School Brass, a Santa's workshop display and a holiday float adorned with an ice princess and dancing elves. Georgetown's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration on Nov. 26

Beginning at 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 26, historic downtown Georgetown will turn into a winter wonderland. The tree lighting event will feature holiday singers and a children's chorus, a visit from Santa, a bonfire and hot cocoa and a tree lighting. Find more information here: http://bit.ly/2fAPMUi.

Greeley Lights the Night Parade on Nov. 26

Greeley's annual parade kicks off the Christmas season in downtown Greeley beginning at 5:30 p.m. More than 50 lighted parade entries make their way downtown where the city of Greeley will light up Lincoln Park with thousands of lights. Find more information here: http://bit.ly/2fhdxCy.

9NEWS Parade of Lights on Dec. 2 and 3

The 42nd Annual 9NEWS Parade of Lights begins and 8 p.m. on Dec. 2 and 6 p.m. on Dec. 3. The two-mile parade route in downtown Denver is free and features marching bands, floats, Major Waddles the penguin and, of course, a visit from Santa. Learn more here: http://bit.ly/2fxJqaV.

Denver Zoo Lights starting Dec. 2

The Denver Zoo Lights span through 70 acres across the zoo and features nightly entertainment, animal encounters, Santa meet-and-greets, illuminated animal sculptures and more. Denver Zoo Lights runs from Dec. 2 to Jan. 1. Find more information here: http://bit.ly/2eE73Lf.

Lakewood Lights on Dec. 2 and 3

Beginning on Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m., the Lakewood Heritage Center will be festively decorated with thousands of lights and host many family-friendly activities. The free two-day event features museum tours, tractor pulled hay-wagon rides, photos with Santa, music, cookies and cocoa, ornament making and shopping. Brighton Festival of Lights on Dec. 10

The 21st annual Festival of Lights Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony will kickoff the holiday season in Brighton on Dec. 10. The event is free.
