GRAND JUNCTION - Delaney Clements was 8-years-old when she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma 5 years ago. It's a cancer commonly found in the adrenal glands.
Earlier this month, her mother posted on Facebook that cancer had spread to Delaney's brain and she was expected to enter hospice care. Wendy Campbell said their goal was to keep her comfortable and her spirits lifted. One way they hoped to do that was a visit from Taylor Swift.
Friends and family hoped to arrange a meeting using #delaneymeettaylor on social media to catch Swift's attention. It apparently worked. On Saturday, Campbell posted pictures of Swift with Delaney on Facebook.
We first told you about Delaney in 2014, when a friend of hers made headlines for shaving her head in support of Delaney during her cancer treatments. Kamryn Renfro's charter school, Caprock Academy in Grand Junction wouldn't let her attend school with a shaved head. The school board later voted to let her attend school.
