City officials say the program is aimed at improving air quality.
Starting Saturday, residents who replace their internal-combustion mowers with an electric or reel mower bought from a participating store can get $25, and an extra $25 is available for people who recycle the old gasoline mowers at participating shops.
The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports the city also will offer $25 to anyone who signs up for lawn service through a certified "clean" lawn service.
The program runs through May 31 or whenever the money runs out.
