Ice-skating rink opens at Skyline Park

Downtown Denver Rink at Skyline Park 

For the eighth year in a row, Denverites will get to enjoy an ice skating rink in downtown Denver this winter season.

The Skyline Park rink officially opened for the season at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Located at 16th and Arapahoe Streets in Downtown Denver, the rink will be open daily to the public for free skating from through Feb. 14, 2018.

And with today’s unseasonably warm temperatures, you can likely forgo the heavy winter coat and gloves while skating.

The Downtown Denver Partnerships expects more than 50,000 skaters to enjoy the rink over the winter season.

“The Rink is a perfect addition to any Downtown itinerary, ideal for a lunch-time break for our more than 130,000 employees, a pre-dinner treat for our 80,000 residents, and of course, a magical holiday experience for everyone who visits the center city,” Sharon Alton, vice president of Downtown experience for the Downtown Denver Partnership said in a press release.

Those who make it out to the rink Wednesday can enjoy complimentary hot cocoa and cookies courtesy Corner Bakery Café.

Renting skates if free on Wednesday, but after that it’ll cost $6 for kids (12 and under) and $8 for adults.

Or you can purchase an unlimited season pass at $35 for kids and $50 for adults.

Skating at the rink is always free if you bring your own skates.
