It's crunch time: Deadlines for holiday shipping

There are only a few days left to mail your packages with USPS, UPS and FedEx.

With less than a week to Christmas, it's officially crunch time for mailing cards and packages.

The United States Postal Service, UPS, FedEx and other companies have listed important deadlines you need to know this week.

Here are the last days to ship for delivery by Christmas:

U.S. Postal Service

  • Dec. 19: First Class Mail
  • Dec. 20: Priority Mail
  • Dec. 22: Priority Mail Express
  • Alaska: Deadline for First Class and Priority Mail shipments is Dec. 20; Priority Mail Express is Dec. 21.
  • Hawaii: Deadline for First Class and Priority Mail shipments is Dec. 15; Priority Mail Express is Dec. 20.

FedEx

  • Dec. 19: Express Saver
  • Dec. 20: Two-day
  • Dec. 21: Overnight shipping deadline

United Parcel Service

  • Dec. 18: UPS 3 Day Select
  • Dec. 20: 2nd Day Air
  • Dec. 21: Next Day Air

It is expected to a record year for shipping companies this holiday season.

The United States Postal Service expects to deliver 15 billion pieces of mail including 850 million packages, a 10% increase over 2016. UPS expects a 5% increase in volume over last year, delivering 750 million packages. FedEx is anticipating delivering 400 million packages.
