National Geographic Travel names Boulder on list of best small cities

What one word would you use to describe Boulder?

Boulder, Colorado.

Hipster Friendly. Musically Grooviest. Most Caffeinated. Sudsiest.

These are the superlatives used by National Geographic Travel that helped land Boulder a spot on their 2018 list of Best Small Cities in the U.S.

Located just 25 miles northwest of Denver, the city is no stranger to this type of recognition – being named in the past as happiest city and healthiest workplace.

To determine eligible small cities, National Geographic Travel collaborated with global destination branding advisors in developing a ‘Small Cities Index.’

From there, they used a survey drawing from statistics and social media mentions to determine which cities ranked highest in unconventional categories like green spaces, coffee shops, live music and Instagrammable moments.
