Get some fresh air while exploring the history of the Mile High City this summer.

For the fifth summer, Historic Denver is putting on guided walking tours to give Denverites a chance to learn about the city’s rich history.

The four classic tours return May 5 and cover LoDo, Capitol Hill, Larimer Square and 16th Street.

A few new tours will be held on select Saturdays, like one highlighting the Mansions of Quality Hill. Participants will get to hear the stories and impact behind the Boettcher, Zang and Malo Mansions. Those tours will be held on June 2, July 7, August 3, September 1, and October 6.

Another tour will focus on the Five Points neighborhood during the 1920’s -1950’s, a time when the neighborhood was commonly referred to as the Harlem of the West. Those tours will be held June 30, July 28, August 25 and September 29.

Tours will run weekly through October 31. They typically last about 90 minutes and cost between $15 and $20.

Historic Denver launched walking tours in 2014 to inspire residents to engage in Denver's local history through studying its architecture.
