Boulder PD: Woman who stole car from gas station hit 2 people before fleeing

At one point, the suspect put the car into reverse and dragged the victim across the parking lot.

BOULDER — Police in Boulder are searching for a woman who seriously injured a man when she stole his vehicle from a gas station Sunday morning.

Shortly before 8:30 a.m., officers were called to Conoco at 4700 Baseline Road for a report of a motor vehicle theft.

Arriving officers determined the victim left his keys in his SUV and went inside the store.

A short time later, he witnessed a heavy-set Hispanic woman get behind the steering wheel and ran outside in an attempt to stop her.

When the victim tried to intervene, the suspect put the car into reverse and dragged the victim across the parking lot.

Police say the woman also struck another person in the parking lot before leaving the lot.

The man whose car was stolen was taken to Boulder Community Health with serious injuries, and the other person who was hit sustained minor injuries.

Police say the woman was wearing dark clothing at the time and is believed to between 30 to 35 years old.

Denver Police found the stolen vehicle sometime later, but the woman is still at large.
