"So we're going to take a careful look in your colon today," Dr. Christina Ha tells a hospital-robed Jimmy Kimmel in a video.

It's clear Tuesday night's Jimmy Kimmel Live! covered a very different, and educational, entertainment.

Kimmel tweeted a preview Tuesday of a segment undergoing his first colonoscopy, with Stand Up To Cancer pal Katie Couric taking him through the procedure.

The Oscar host turned 50 in November. That's the age when the American Cancer Society recommends men and women begin getting tested for colorectal cancer, which involves doctors placing a tube 1/2-inch in diameter into the colon to examine it.

Warning: Medically-inspired profanity in the clip.

Couric famously had the same procedure on TV in 2007 after her husband, Jay Monahan, died from colon cancer.

"Why do you think more people aren't getting screened?" Couric asks Ha.

Kimmel has a ready response for that.

In another video posted on YouTube, Kimmel expresses fear and loathing about the procedure. "This is terrible thing," he tells Couric. "I should never have swiped left on Tinder."
