A Weld County detention center deputy was arrested Friday night for allegedly having sex with a female inmate.
Zachariah Cullison, 26, was arrested on charges of sexual conduct in a correctional institution, which is a class 5 felony.
The sexual contact allegedly happened within the Weld County North Jail Complex.
Cullison and the unnamed female inmate allegedly had consensual relations in a restroom out of view of security cameras, according to a sheriff's office news release.
In the news release Sheriff Steve Reams said, "People expect to be able to trust law enforcement in every capacity. When a deputy breaks and violates public trust then they should be handled with the full force of the law."
Cullison has been a detention deputy since August 2016.
He has been placed on unpaid administrative leave.
