The mom and her two daughters who were reported missing Friday morning after they went for a hike on Grand Mesa and didn't come back have been found safe, the Mesa County Sheriff's Office said.
The woman, identified as 40-year-old Marshia (Marsha) Peterson, 40, and her two daughters, 10-year-old Signe and 8-year-old Zoe, were last seen at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday near the Flowing Park Overlook. They were reported safe at around 2 p.m. Friday.
When they didn’t return to their campsite as expected, other family members called 911 – prompting a search led by the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
This included a ground team, ATV team, rescue dogs and aircraft.
