Shoppers looking for Black Friday deals at an Aurora Best Buy were forced to leave early after the building was evacuated due to a suspicious device left in the store.

Aurora Police tweeted out just before 11 p.m. that they were responding to the Best Buy located at the Southlands Town Center located near E-470 and Smoky Hill Road. The store and parking lot were evacuated as a precaution.

In addition to Aurora Police, Aurora Fire and a bomb squad were called to the scene. Police say the device was removed by the bomb squad and its robot, and it will be investigated and destroyed. Crews said they would also stay on scene and sweep the area for any other suspicious packages.

Best Buy remained closed for the remainder of the night, but planned on reopening to in the morning.

The Aurora Police Department tweeted Friday afternoon that the items found were not explosives, though they were "suspicious in nature."
