The No. 2 Cherry Creek Bruins had a stellar first half on Wednesday night in their eventual 11-9 victory over the No. 3 Columbine Rebels.

The Rebels were the only remaining team in 5A boys lacrosse that were undefeated leading up to their game against the Bruins.

However, the Bruins are no slouch, their only loss came at the hands of No. 1 Regis Jesuit. Cherry Creek flexed their offensive muscle in the first half scoring an unanswered seven goals while playing shutdown defense.

Goalkeeper Knox Dent had a handful of great saves to keep the Rebels off the board in the first half.

In the second, Columbine would make a valiant effort to close the gap outscoring the Bruins 9-4.

The No. 2 ranked Bruins dominant first half would eventually help lift them past Columbine 11-9 to hand the Rebels their first loss of the season.
