Denver Broncos President and CEO Joe Ellis, Vance Joseph and General Manager John Elway pose for the media during a press conference to introduce Vance Joseph as the new head coach on January 12, 2017.

Although NFL firings began Monday with the dismissals of New York Giants’ general manager Jerry Reese and head coach Ben McAdoo, the Denver Broncos will not make such dramatic changes at this time, sources told 9NEWS.

However, with the Broncos mired in one of the worst swoons in franchise history, several changes to the team’s coaching and personnel staff are expected at season’s end.

The Broncos have not only lost eight in a row – their worst losing streak in 50 years – they have lost by an average score of 30.1 to 13.5.

The non-competitive nature of the Broncos’ string of defeats may have reached its latest nadir Sunday with a 35-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins’ defense had allowed a league-worst 35.4 points per game during the 5-game losing streak they brought into their game, yet Trevor Siemian and the Denver offense could only muster 3 points.

More embarrassingly, Adam Gase, the Broncos’ offensive coordinator in 2013-14 who is now the Dolphins’ head coach, tried to run up the score against his former team by executing an onside kick in the fourth quarter with his team up 33-9. Then with about 3 minutes to go and his team up 35-9, Gase called for a go route on a third-and-1.

After the game, Broncos’ chief executive officer and president Joe Ellis appeared troubled as he stood in the back center of the locker room observing how the players reacted in defeat.

"We get it guys, it's been hard on the fans, the city, you guys, us, our families -- it's been hard,'' Joseph said. "But we have to continue to go to work and make something positive here.''

As the Broncos have been non-competitive in the ultra-competitive business that is the NFL, just about everyone except general manager John Elway in the football operations department is on notice. First-year head coach Vance Joseph is already on the hot seat, although there is sentiment he would be a much better coach with better quarterback play.

“I’m not concerned about that,'' Joseph said when asked about his job security. "I’m concerned about one thing and that’s the Jets on Sunday. I’ve been in the league a long time. I’m not concerned about that.”

During their losing streak, the Broncos have used Siemian, Brock Osweiler, Paxton Lynch and Siemian again as their starting quarterbacks.
