Orange you glad the Broncos will wear their Color Rush uniforms Thursday?

The Broncos will go overboard Thursday night by wearing all orange for their game against the Colts.

Think about why we sports fans root for a particular team.

Hometown is the most common reason. Family tradition and favorite player are others.

But how many fans out there started rooting for a team because, you know what, you liked their uniforms?

The Broncos will go overboard Thursday night by wearing all orange for their game against the Colts.

“I’m not crazy about them,’’ said Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian. “I think it makes us look like human traffic cones out there.’’

Siemian was quick to add he didn’t get a uniform as the No. 3 quarterback against the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this season so he’ll take whatever’s hanging in his locker Thursday in the Lucas Oil Stadium visitor’s room, no matter how garish. The Colts, by the way, will wear all blue.

No, it’s not your television set.

The Broncos lost their all-orange game last year in San Diego and they’re 0-6 in road games this year. And they hardly ever win in Indy.

Then again, it once didn’t look good for a princess at midnight either.

"I'm still the same short pumpkin,’’ said Broncos running back C.J. Anderson. “I'll be a pumpkin and I'm trying to have a Cinderella night."

Most Broncos, when you ask about the all-orange uniforms, their answer, “I the helmets!”
There was one predictable exception.

“The whole team wears orange, I think it looks great,’’ Von Miller said. “Some color rush colors don’t look as dope as ours. It’s dope we get to go out there in all orange and play in front of the world.’’

When the 4-9 Broncos play the 3-10 Colts, the hope the world watching on NBC doesn’t come away thinking, “how ‘bout them helmets!’’
