Sources: Trevor Siemian's season done with subluxed shoulder

Trevor Siemian will miss the rest of the season.
Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian (13) runs out of the pocket while being sacked by Indianapolis Colts linebacker Barkevious Mingo (52) in the first quarter at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian will miss the rest of the season after tests revealed he suffered a subluxation in his left shoulder joint during Thursday's game at Indianapolis, league sources told 9NEWS.

The Broncos and Siemian are hopeful the injury will not require surgery to repair, although there will be further tests and examination.

The injury mean Siemian will miss the final two games of the season and the Broncos will go forward with Brock Osweiler and Paxton Lynch at quarterback. Lynch was scheduled to return to practice Monday after missing the past three games with a high ankle sprain.

Siemian suffered his shoulder injury as he was sacked by the Colts' Barkevious Mingo to kill a goal-to-go situation in the first quarter. Osweiler came off the bench and led a rally from a 10-point deficit by running for one touchdown and passing for two more in the Broncos' 25-13 victory.

The 5-9 Broncos finish the season with a game at Washington on Christmas Eve and home against Kansas City on New Year's Eve.
