DENVER - An organization is out to change the world - one dirty diaper at a time.
Starting as way to celebrate Earth Day, the Real Diaper Association annually attempts to break a Guinness World Record in an event called The Great Cloth Diaper Change. Last year, they achieved their goal by changing the most cloth diapers, with more than 5,000 people participating in the event.
According to the RDR, cloth diapers are extremely friendly on the environment and a baby's health. The diapers can reduce exposure of a babies' skin and lungs to the chemicals in a disposable diapers.
Local organizer Julie Eksrtom says cloth diapers are very functional, possessing the same convenience of disposable diapers.
"They work just like a regular, disposable diaper. They come in either snaps or hook-n-loop. The outside material is waterproof and the inside cloth is really absorbent," she said.
