DENVER - A program in Denver is helping mothers go through drug and or alcohol rehabilitation without having to put their children in a foster home.
Licensed by the Department of Behavioral Health, The Haven program offers long-term, intensive treatment for women with addictions.
The Haven is made up of three facilities located on the Ft. Logan campus in Denver and can serve up to 26 pregnant or post-partum women and their infants.
Clients stay for 12 months in a residential treatment, then complete another 12 months of outpatient treatment.
The Haven says the long-term outcomes are positive, citing that 90.1 percent of mothers who enter the program remain drug, alcohol, and crime-free two years after completion.
