KUSA - It's that time of year when many people donate to their favorite charities, and popular one is usually the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Actress, activist and hospital spokesperson Marlo Thomas joined 9NEWS to talk about the hospital's "Thanks and Giving" campaign.
"St. Jude is a national resource," Thomas said. "Our laboratories may not be in your community, but our discoveries are, and the children come from every community in the country. This is a time for the whole country to look at their kids and say thanks for the healthy kids in my life and give to those who are not."
Marlo Thomas' father, Danny Thomas, founded the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in 1962, with a mission of finding cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.
