WELD COUNTY - Officials in Weld County have shut down Weld Central High School Friday after a teen phoned in a threat.

The Weld County Sheriff's office says Weld Central High School received an anonymous phone call threatening to blow up the school.

The male caller stated "I'm gonna bomb the school" and hung up the phone. The call came in around 12:30 on Friday.

Weld County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the school and have been able to trace the phone number.

A 16-year-old student was identified as having the phone that the call was placed from.

Authorities believe the call was a hoax but school staff will be looking for anything suspicious within the school.

The investigation continues at this time.
