DENVER - Denver is preparing for its second-annual Financial Planning Day that will be held at North High School.
"This event is all about certified financial planners being able to give back to the public and help the public through these tough economic times," Matt Veenker, a certified financial planner taking part in the event said.
Dozens of certified financial planners will gather in Denver to answer your burning finance questions. From credit problems to investing for retirement to taxes or insurance, these planners will provide free personalized advice one-on-one.
"We're doing this pro-bono, we're not going to be charging anything, we're not going to be selling anything; we're just here to give back some free advice," Veenker said.
Finance professionals will be holding workshops throughout the day in both Spanish and English to give advice of a variety of financial topics. Some of these are Planning Your Financial Goals, Budgeting 101 and Your Credit.
No need to bring anything. However, if you have specific questions, it is advised to bring any financial paperwork with you.
"Trying to figure out how to manage money these days is not easy at all, and so we're here to help figure out and answer those questions" Veenker said.
The event will be held Oct. 22 at North High School in Denver and will kick off at 9 a.m. and go to 2 p.m.
