"We want to be a resource for personal style," Wendy Manning, marketing director for the Denver Pavilions, said.

Manning says personal style can be defined by what people wear, what they eat and how they like to have fun.

Manning says the shopping center, located on the 16th Street Mall at Glenarm Place, was revamped over a nine-month period with new escalators, elevators, LED screens, enhanced lighting and landscaping and a remodeled public restroom. They also added a new crosswalk at Glenarm.

There are now two LED screens facing the 16th Street Mall and a jumbotron near the movie theatre. They plan to show movie trailers and promote local events, such as Denver Arts Week, on the screens.

To celebrate its new style, the Denver Pavilions hosted a local celebrity fashion show on its new escalator at Welton Street, at noon on Tuesday. In conjunction with the event, people can vote for their favorite local celebrity on the Denver Pavilions Web site; the winner gets $500 toward the charity of their choice.

The Pavilions also plans to give away "eco-chic" gift bags and shopping sprees all week, along with offering special shopping deals. The deals include 20 percent off at the Barkin' Boutique and Bakery, $35 manicure/pedicures at Denver Nail Lounge, 25 percent off at Banana Republic and more.
