$134 million outlet mall coming to Thornton

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Simon Property Group will construct a $134 million outlet mall in Thornton, with construction expected to begin in mid-2016.

The new shopping center, to be called Denver Premium Outlets, will be built on 94 acres at the northeast corner of 136th Avenue and Interstate 25. The first phase of construction will include about 350,000 square feet of new retail space. Phase two of the project will add another 50,000 square feet.

The property could be further developed to include restaurants and hotels, according to the city of Thornton.

Simon Property Group is an international retail real estate owner that owns Colorado Mills outlet mall in Jefferson County and Town Center at Aurora.
