​5 lessons from the worst boss I ever had

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - When I got out of college, my first professional job was at a bank. My boss there was a woman to-go-unnamed who taught me a lot about my life and what I did not want from it.

The way I learned these lessons reminds me a lot of a book C.S. Lewis wrote called “The Screwtape Letters.” The book takes a creative approach to teaching lessons in temptation by telling the story of how an agent of Satan attempts to influence a certain target on Earth by getting that person to think the wrong way.

In much the same way that Lewis’ book taught about how to resist temptation by showing all the ways the target on Earth went astray, my boss at the bank taught me how to be a better boss by showing me first how to be a terrible boss and letting me learn from it.

Here are the five lessons I learned from the worst boss I ever had.
